How bad can summer classes be?

Not bad at all…especially if the class involves flying to another country to learn about the history and culture! When the opportunity arose for me to hop on a flight and travel to Italy for a two week study-abroad course in Rome, I didn’t hesitate to call the scholarship offices and gather the funds to make it possible.

Endless gelato, swirled with decadent layers of chocolate? Hand-tossed Margherita pizza, fresh from the birthplace of pizza? Count me in. I was beyond excited to see the Coliseum in real life, rather than the cinematic renditions of it I’d seen in the movies.

I had no idea that my two-week history course in Rome would literally change the trajectory of my life, granting me the passion and drive to further my studies in Florence, Italy! One flight became another, which became another… you get the idea 🙂

And I’ve been boppin’ around the globe ever since!
